Steal An Egg Enchanted Mutation: Essence, Effects & Guide

Get the Enchanted mutation through Wisp, Butterfly Bloom and Enchanted Essence. Follow the recipe, application steps, video walkthrough and mutation comparison.

HOW TO GET ENCHANTED

Finish Wisp’s three quests, return it to unlock the Enchanted Tree, collect the Butterfly Net and catch butterflies during Butterfly Bloom. Craft one Enchanted Essence with 240 Emerald, 115 Sapphire, 40 Amethyst and 1 Radiant, then apply it to an unhatched egg. The 100% label means guaranteed mutation application—not double income or a guaranteed rare hatch.

How to get Enchanted Mutation through Wisp

Wisp unlocks the route; it does not hand you an Essence. Start near the right-hand entrance of Enchanted Forest, beyond Angels & Demons. Find the golden spirit beside the recommended-Speed area and open Your Wisp.

  1. 1
Complete and claim all three Wisp quests

Steal 20 Enchanted Forest eggs and bring them home. Next, complete one Forest-animal fusion at your base’s regular Fuse Machine using three matching eligible pets. Finally, steal an Eternal Egg and bring it home. Press Claim after each task before beginning the next.

  2. 2
Return Wisp and enter the tree

Use Return the Wisp, then interact with the spiral-marked Enchanted Tree door. The mushroom puzzle and hidden fusion altar are separate activities—you do not need their rewards to start collecting butterflies.

  3. 3
Collect the net and catch outdoors

Pick up the free Butterfly Net inside the tree. Equip it and head back outside into Enchanted Forest during Butterfly Bloom. Move through the swarms and check the catch notifications and owned counts.

  4. 4
Craft the Essence at the Mutation Shrine

Return inside with all four butterfly types. Use the converter for missing higher tiers if needed, then redeem the full recipe at the Enchanted Mutation Shrine.

Video walkthrough: return Wisp, converter and net

ViewSIM’s Forest walkthrough covers Return Wisp at 2:27, butterfly conversions at 3:32 and the net at 3:58. Start here if you need to recognize the indoor route.

This section shows the unlock and collection route, not a measured Enchanted income multiplier. The written steps remain available without loading the video.

Enchanted Essence recipe

The shrine exchanges the following materials for one Enchanted Essence. Keep every required stack available at the same time:

ButterflyAmount for one Essence
Emerald240
Sapphire115
Amethyst40
Radiant1

The converter trades 10 Emerald → 1 Sapphire, 10 Sapphire → 1 Amethyst and 50 Amethyst → 1 Radiant. Do not convert away the lower tiers you still need for the shrine. The butterfly conversion plan shows how to reserve materials.

“Need More Butterflies”? Compare all four rows, not just your total butterfly count. Having a Radiant does not replace the Emerald, Sapphire or Amethyst costs.

How to use Enchanted Essence

The community-described application route targets an egg before it hatches, rather than a pet already earning money at your base.

  1. Choose an egg you intend to keep. Have an eligible unhatched egg at your base; leave time to apply the item before hatching finishes.
  2. Equip Enchanted Essence. Crafting the item is not the same as applying it. Check the selected consumable and approach the intended egg.
  3. Use the displayed mutation interaction. Read the target and confirmation prompt before spending the Essence, especially if the egg already has a mutation.
  4. Check the resulting label. Look for Enchanted on the egg or hatched pet, then read that pet’s income display. The mutation does not guarantee a Divine hatch.

If no interaction appears, check the egg is still unhatched, the Essence is equipped and you are close enough. A missing prompt is not a failed probability roll.

Enchanted effects, multiplier and stacking

What does Enchanted change?

Enchanted is a mutation variant, not a new pet species or rarity. Community descriptions associate it with increased pet income and a blue crystalline appearance. Weight, other mutations and active boosts can also affect the final income display.

Does 100% mean twice the income?

No. The shrine’s guaranteed result is the application chance. It does not specify a +100% earnings bonus, hatch rarity or pet weight.

Is the multiplier 2.5×, 2.85× or 3.2×?

Published figures conflict across those three values. There is no settled multiplier to use as a reliable earnings forecast here. Compare the actual income of the pets you own with the Pet Instance Comparator; a heavier pet is not a clean comparison with a lighter one.

Does it stack with other mutations?

Some community guides describe stacking, but reports do not consistently establish whether applying Essence preserves every existing mutation or how combined bonuses are calculated. Read the application prompt before using it on an already-mutated egg. Do not multiply several advertised bonuses together and assume that will be the payout.

Enchanted vs other mutations

The useful distinction is how you obtain the mutation and what you spend, not an unsupported best-to-worst multiplier ranking.

MutationAcquisition routeHow it compares
EnchantedWisp → tree → butterflies → Essence100% application; substantial butterfly collection and conversion cost.
ScrambledExperiment Shop consumable, purchased with SamplesCommunity shop reports describe a 10% attempt, so repeated items may fail. Check current event availability.
FracturedRift Boss Shop consumable, purchased with Boss TokensSeparate currency and boss route; not the guaranteed butterfly recipe.
Bloom / Spirit BloomSakura Incubator in Cherry BlossomA different biome, unlock and resource loop; butterfly materials do not substitute for Sakura resources.
Silver / Golden / RainbowOther mutation variants found on eggs and petsCompare the specific pet’s labels and earnings. Those names alone do not establish whether Enchanted would preserve or outperform the existing combination.

Which egg should get your Essence?

Favor a valuable egg you expect to keep, rather than a temporary collection filler. Guaranteed application removes the repeated-failure risk, but not the time spent farming butterflies. If you still cannot reach the Forest comfortably, finish your Wisp progression before treating Essence farming as your next upgrade.

Do not fuse a valuable pet purely to prepare for Enchanted: normal fusion can reduce the result’s weight and consumes inputs. Essence, fusion and hatch rarity are different decisions.

Enchanted Mutation FAQ

Do Wisp quests give Enchanted Essence directly?

No. They unlock the Enchanted Tree. Collect the net, catch butterflies and exchange the recipe afterward.

Do I have to solve the mushroom puzzle first?

No. The puzzle leads to Jitterbug and the banjo route. The net, converter and Mutation Shrine are the butterfly progression route.

Can I use Essence on a hatched pet?

The described route uses an unhatched egg. Prepare the egg first instead of waiting until it becomes a pet.

Is Enchanted the strongest mutation?

Guaranteed application does not prove the highest income. The conflicting multiplier figures and uncertain combined-mutation behavior do not support a universal ranking.

Why did I not receive the mutation after crafting?

Crafting gives the Essence item. Equip it and use the mutation interaction on an eligible egg; crafting alone does not mutate your inventory.
