No. It counts only from the time you enter or the event state you tap. Re-sync after a server hop, update, or missed event.

Current community coverage says to hit Crystal Cherry Blossom Trees with the Bat during Great Bloom in the Cherry Blossom Zone.

What if the in-game countdown is different?
